The Woman Who Loved Roses

The woman who loved roses
Was once a girl
Who wished for a new dress.
She listened to the radio
And weeded in the garden.

And every time that life was hard
She just kept loving the roses.

The woman who loved sunshine
Wanted to see the world
But that cost too much money,
So she sat in the sun
And sketched the flowers.

And every time that life was hard
She just kept loving the sunshine.

The woman who loved children
Held them on her lap
And told them stories.
When they woke up at night,
She tucked them back in.

And every time that life was hard
She just kept loving the children.

As the years went by,
She had dancing eyes,
Music in her heart,
Memories full of children,
And a garden full of roses.

And every time that life was hard
She just kept loving the roses.
