Haiku Night
Dark, cool nights embrace
Us early, focusing eyes
On nearby shadows.
A blanket of night
Folds like soft down around us
Wraps us in sleep.
Blue-grey horizon;
City of many millions
Lights the starless sky.
We sleep through the night
Awaken to a morning
Much older than we.
