Martin Luther King Jr. Marching Wall
This page is part of my 1999 entry for an international competition for the design of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial in Washington, DC.
As you enter the northeast portal of the Marching Wall breezeway, you encounter a plaque briefly outlining the pivotal moments in the American Civil Rights Movement.
The journey along the sculpted granite walls introduces you to those people who were the Civil Rights Movement, who walked before and with and after Martin.
These quotations, chiseled in stone, are from the souls of those who dared march toward freedom.
